KSEQ AND KIOO HAVE HAD A TOTAL OF 11 INTERNS FROM AUG 11TH THROUGH MAY 24, 2012.  FALL PROGRAMMING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Beginning on Aug 9th through September 5th we began running on-air announcements for our internship program.  We had a great response to our ad. We interviewed and made a decision on 11 interns, 5 of whom were females.  There were also 6 males many of whom were hispanic.  Their internship was spent in programming and promotions.  They learned about appearances and events.  They also spent time helping with the station booth at the Fresno Fair.

FALL ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

On Aug 17, 2011, we interviewed and made a decision on 1 female intern from College of the Sequoias. She spent her fall semester learning telephone skills, learning traffic software, helping with putting together the billing for mailing and filing.  She also helped winners when they came in to pickup prizes.

SPRING ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

On March 1, 2012,  we began sharing a female intern from College of the Sequoias who had been working in our promotions department. She learned telephone skills, put billing together to be filed.  She also helped the winners when they would call or come in to the office to pick-up prizes.

9/28/2011 TULARE COUNTY CAREER FAIR

KSEQ & KIOO was a sponsor and participant in this large annual community event. The stations began advertising for employers on Aug 5, 2011 and continued to advertise through 9/27/11 to bring awareness to the community about this event.  There were over 1,500 job seekers held at the Visalia Holiday Inn.  This number exceeded last year's by 17%.  The attendees were a wide array of demographics, from teenagers to people in their 60's. The gender split was close to 50/50.  The ethnicity factor seemed to mirror the population diversity.  There were 42 vendors looking to hire, which was significantly lower than previous years due to the economy. WE collected 93 resumes and applications that will be used in future job vacancies.
